Lucic out with broken finger

Milan Lucic will not play tonight because of a broken finger. Lucic suffered the injury in last night’s second period when he threw a hit on Stephane Robidas in the corner. Lucic played sparingly in the third period. Claude Julien wasn’t sure, but he thought it was Lucic’s index finger on his right hand.

Guillaume Lefebvre will dress in Lucic’s place. Lefebvre will most likely serve as the fourth-line left wing, with Shawn Thornton switching to the right side. Blake Wheeler will probably switch back to left wing next to David Krejci, while Byron Bitz moves up to serve as the No. 2 right wing.

Lefebvre got the call at approximately 11:30 p.m. last night. Lefebvre drove from Providence to Boston, then took a direct flight to Phoenix that landed a short time ago. Lefebvre had been skating on Providence’s checking line with Drew Larman and Kirk MacDonald.
