With his team stuck in a 3-4-0 rut to start 2009-10, GM Peter Chiarelli has done his part to light the fuse under his struggling club by trading underperforming right wing Chuck Kobasew to Minnesota for the Wild’s 2011 second-round pick, the rights to forward Alexander Fallstrom, and forward Craig Weller.
Kobasew, the right wing on the No. 3 line, has only one assist in seven games. The Bruins also clear Kobasew’s $2.33 million salary from their books.
The Bruins also placed Milan Lucic (broken finger) on long-term injured reserve. Lucic broke the finger on Friday against Dallas and sat out his first game yesterday. By being placed on LTIR, Lucic must miss at least 10 games and 24 calendar days.
The Bruins also recalled Brad Marchand, Vladimir Sobotka, and Guillaume Lefebvre from Providence.
