The Bruins will face the Flyers at the Garden in a Saturday matinee, 12:30 p.m., to open Round 2 of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Some 48 hours after dumping the Sabres in the opening round of the postseason, the Bruins this evening learned that they will face the Broad Street Bullies in the next round when the Canadiens rubbed out the heavily-favored Capitals, 2-1, in Game 7 of their first-round series at D.C.
Once bitter postseason adversaries, the Bruins and Flyers haven’t opposed each other in the playoffs since 1978, when the Bruins dumped them in the Cup semifinals, 4 games to 1.
Here is the Round 2 schedule for Bruins vs. Flyers:

The Canadiens, led to victory tonight on goals by Marc-Andre Bergeron and Dominic Moore, will take on the defending Cup champion Penguins in the Eastern Conference’s other second-round series.
Brooks Laich scored Washington’s only goal with 2:16 remaining in regulation, cutting Montreal’s 2-0 lead in half.
The Capitals failed to score with a power play in the final 1:44 of regulation, with their goalie, Semyon Varlamov, out of the net in favor of an extra skater.
In the West, Vancouver will oppose Chicago and San Jose will take on the Red Wings.
If the Bruins get by the Flyers, who are nursing a host of injuries after winning their first-round series with the Devils, it will be the first time they have made it out of the second round since 1992, when they were swept by the Penguins, 4-0, in the Cup semis.
