Adam McQuaid, injured in the first period of Game 3, will not play tonight. Claude Julien said he hopes to see McQuaid back on the ice in the next few days. Mark Stuart will play for the second straight game. Stuart will most likely be paired with Andrew Ference.
“Did we know he’d have some issues at times? Absolutely,” Julien said of Stuart’s Game 4. “That’s why we put him in. He was ready to go. If he hadn’t gone through those issues the other night, he’d be going through them tonight. We expect him to be better. He’s an individual who’s always been sometimes too hard on himself. He expects more out of him. That’s what makes him a great athlete and a great teammate. He demands a lot. He sets his standards high. He’s a great example for people trying to persevere through some tough times. That’s what he brings to the table. I think he’s going to be better for us tonight.”
* The Bruins had an optional skate this morning.
