WILMINGTON — The Bruins are on the ice at Ristuccia Arena trying to shake the cobwebs from Friday’s 3-0 shutout loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.
Marc Savard is on the ice, skating with Daniel Paille and Michael Ryder on the fourth line.
David Krejci, Jordan Caron, and Marco Sturm did not suit up and have not been spotted at the rink. Caron sat out Friday’s game against the Hurricanes with the flu and Krejci was also listed with the flu today, according to Bruins spokesman Matt Chmura.
Update, 1:03 p.m: Bruins coach Claude Julien said Krejci, Caron and Strum all were out with the flu and that Krecji, who centered the Bruins’ second line with LW Blake Wheeler and RW Michael Ryder, and Caron would not likely travel with the team this afternoon to Atlanta.
Julien was not certain if the team would make any call-ups today, but indicated that Wheeler and Tyler Seguin practiced at center on the second line with Mark Recchi.
Update, 1:32 p.m: The Bruins recalled forward Jamie Arniel from Providence (AHL) on an emergency basis and will join the club on the trip to Atlanta and be available against the Thrashers Sunday, November 28.
This is Arniel’s second recall to Boston, he was recalled Nov. 9 and was a healthy scratch in the team’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Nov. 10.
The 21-year-old Arniel has appeared in 19 games this season for Providence, and leads the team in points and goals with 9-7=16 totals.
