Game 56: Bruins at Red Wings

DETROIT — Good morning from Joe Louis Arena, where the Bruins will square off with the Red Wings this afternoon in a rematch of Friday’s 6-1 thumping at TD Garden.

You know you’re in Detroit when the rental car is a blocks-long Mercury Grand Marquis straight out of Dupont’s fantasy garage. Did a five-minute, 55 m.p.h. stretch on I-94 in the left lane with the blinker on in honor of my colleague.

Tyler Seguin, a healthy scratch the last two games, is back in the lineup. Also making a return is Mark Stuart, a press box inhabitant for the last eight games. Zach Hamill and Steven Kampfer will be in suit and tie this afternoon.

Kampfer, a native of nearby Jackson, Mich., had expected more than 20 guests today.

“I think the last five games or so, we feel that his game has progressively slipped,” said Claude Julien. “I know the timing may not be the best. But we’ve got to make decisions here for the right reasons.”

Puck drop: 12:30 p.m.

Record: Bruins 31-17-7, Wings 33-16-6

TV/radio info: NBC (Mike Emrick, Ed Olczyk, Pierre McGuire), 98.5 The Sports Hub (Ryan Johnston, Bob Beers)

Storylines: The Bruins are coming off their worst loss of the season. The last time they dropped a game by five goals was to Anaheim on Oct. 8, 2009… Seguin dropped the first puck at last night’s Plymouth-Owen Sound game. Seguin is expecting 10-plus guests today… The Wings will honor Chris Osgood before today’s game. Osgood is out with a groin injury… Kyle Rehman and Kelly Sutherland will be the referees. Jonny Murray and Tony Sericolo will be the linesmen.
