3d period – 17:41 – Boston 4, Montreal 4 – Dennis Seidenberg has been called for interference. The Habs are on the power play.
3d period – 13:42 – Boston 4, Montreal 4 – Hard work by Bruins’ forward Chris Kelly pays off as the team ties up the game for the third time. During a scramble in front, Kelly, positioned off to the right side of the crease, saw a loose puck resting between the skates of Canadiens’ defenseman Brent Sopel and rapped it past Carey Price.
3d period – 6:28 – Montreal 4, Boston 3 – Sick glove save by Canadiens’ goalie Carey Price on Bruins’ defenseman Johnny Boychuk. Price looked completely down and out and all Boychuk had to do was lift the puck over him at the right post but Boychuk’s bid was snared by a sprawled Price.
3d period – 1:39 – Montreal 4, Boston 3 – P.K. Subban, who has been a thorn in the Bruins’ side defensively during the series, added some offense to his repertoire, scoring a power-play goal to give the Canadiens back the lead. Subban’s shot from the left circle glanced off the skate of Bruins’ defenseman Dennis Seidenberg and beat goalie Tim Thomas into the top left corner of the net.
3d period – 0:32 – Boston 3, Montreal 3 – Patrice Bergeron has been whistled off for hooking. The Canadiens are on the power play.
2d period – 17:04 – Boston 3, Montreal 3 – The Bruins have fought back to even on Patrice Bergeron’s goal. Brad Marchand centered a pass to Bergeron in front and Bergeron tapped it past Carey Price. New ballgame.
2d period – 9:59 – Montreal 3, Boston 2 – The Bruins have battled back to within one on Andrew Ference’s blast from high between the circles.
2d period – 7:47 – Montreal 3, Boston 1 – Tomas Plekanec, who has been a force for Montreal throughout this series, set up the Habs’ third goal, scored just 55 seconds after their second. Plekanec dished a pass from the right circle in front to Andrei Kostitsyn, who directed it by Thomas.
2d period – 6:52 – Montreal 2, Boston 1 – Very grim news. The Canadiens have been putting on an offensive clinic. Goalie Tim Thomas was able to stave off many of their scoring chances but the Habs finished off a dizzying passing sequence that Thomas couldn’t stop. Canadiens’ captain Brian Gionta made a stellar pass through the crease to Michael Cammalleri, who rapped home a shot to retake the lead.
