Cam Neely: ‘Everybody was settled down’

Bruins president Cam Neely talked about what changed for Boston after being down two games to none against the Montreal Canadiens in the opening round playoff series before turning things around.

“I think everybody was settled down,” Neely said after Game 4. “I think the coaching staff did a good job of settling everybody down. I know everyone was excited about the playoffs starting; the coaching staff did a really good job at settling everybody down. I think that when we play the way we are capable of playing we have good results. I have said that for a long time. It showed. It showed that as the Montreal series progressed and then this series.”

Neely said the Bruins are gaining valuable playoff experience with this current postseason run.

“I think guys are gaining some experience from some of those series from years past that they carried into this year,” he said. “It showed that you go down 2-0 in the first series and come back and win that. Similar situations this year that we did last year, guys learn from last year. History is great if you can learn from it.”
