Bruins chime in on Seguin’s big day

They’re all happy for Tyler Seguin. Every single one of the Bruins. The 19-year old kid who had been sitting on a shelf for most of the season exploded for a two-goal, two-assist effort to help the Bruins tie their Eastern Conference finals series with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

From one player to the next, each expressed what they thought of Seguin’s huge game.

“I see Tyler in practice,” Tim Thomas said. “He has some speed and some good moves. He gets those opportunities and he knows how to score. I wasn’t surprised that he buried the puck when he got those opportunities. Those were big goals for us. I don’t really know what to say except I am happy for him and the whole team that he was able to do it.”

Said David Krejci: “He played unbelievable. He was dominant today and it’s good to see him play like that, you know. Hopefully he can keep it going … Obviously you’re not going to see every night a four point game from him, but as long as he’ll be playing with the speed he is and the intensity, he’s going to bring a lot to this team.”

Said Chris Kelly: “Well obviously he was fantastic tonight. That first goal he scored shows how quick he is. And he had a solid game not only offensively, but I thought he did a lot of the little things well tonight defensively.”

Said Dennis Seidenberg: “It’s surprising that he really steps up like that. It’s crazy. I mean he comes in, he delivers, and he played great. I mean he played good defensively and offensively, he was really explosive and created chances every time he was on the ice.”

Claude Julien remarked that Seguin was one of the Bruins’ best players on the ice.

“He’s competed extremely well and he’s been an excited individual waiting for his opportunity. And he’s certainly making the best of it.”
