Bruins forward Nathan Horton was carted off the ice tonight during Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final after taking a vicious hit from Vancouver defenseman Aaron Rome.
Horton has been taken to Mass General hospital and is moving all of his extremities, according to the Bruins public relations staff.
Horton, second on the Bruins in goals (8) and points (17) this postseason, had just dished a right to left pass to linemate Milan Lucic when he was blasted by Rome, who took two full strides before hitting Horton.
Horton crumbled to the ice, his right arm pointing up awkwardly, and was tended to by the Bruins training staff and medical personnel for nearly 10 minutes before being carried off on a stretcher.
Rome was given a five-minute penalty for interference and a game misconduct.
