Cup-winning Bruins say goodbye to 2010-11

The Bruins gathered at TD Garden today for the final time of their 2010-11 championship season. Among other things, they convened at their home rink for exit interviews, a final team picture, and complimentary tattoos. The latter was the fulfillment of a long-ago pledge from Andrew Ference’s ink man in Calgary, who once promised his client that he would fly to Boston and provide paint jobs if the Bruins won the Stanley Cup.

“All good things have to come to an end, right? Today was the day when it comes to team picture and all that kind of stuff,” Milan Lucic said of the Cup-winning team gathering for one last time. “It’s definitely been a crazy couple days with everyone being together and doing everything together.”

* Nathan Horton will not require surgery on his separated shoulder. Horton also said he is headache-free.

* Milan Lucic will not require surgery on the broken big toe on his right foot. Lucic will, however, undergo sinus surgery. Lucic had been slowed by a sinus infection at the end of the regular season.

* After Game 7, Gregory Campbell awarded the team jacket to Mark Recchi. It will be up to Recchi what becomes of the jacket — whether he keeps it forever or puts it up for charity.

* Tomas Kaberle said he’d like to remain in Boston. Kaberle will be an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Agent Rick Curran will talk with GM Peter Chiarelli in the upcoming days regarding an extension.
