Final: Bruins 2, Canadiens 1

MONTREAL — All done at the Bell Centre. Bruins complete the sweep. Some impressions:

* Jordan Caron was outstanding in the third period after he was moved up to the first line. Had three scoring chances and set a screen prior to Tyler Seguin’s PPG. Will be hard to assign Caron to Providence after the camp he’s had. However, Caron doesn’t have to clear waivers, which is a significant factor in the decision.

* Best game for Steven Kampfer so far. Kampfer credited assistant GM Don Sweeney for giving him a pregame pep talk. Kampfer (three shots, 20:51 ice time) assisted on Chris Clark’s game-winning goal by rushing the puck and spotting Max Sauve.

* Business as usual from Tuukka Rask. Square to the puck all night.

13:15 3d period: Bruins 2-1
Nifty backhand dish by Max Sauve to Chris Clark far post. Clark buries the shot. Starts with strong rush up the ice by Steven Kampfer. Tonight has been Kampfer’s best game of preseason.

8:50 3d period: 1-1
Jordan Caron with a pair of chances in front. Caron looks very comfortable on a skilled line.

4:17 3d period: 1-1
Tyler Seguin ties it up with a PPG. Excellent screen by Jordan Caron on a Matt Bartkowski shot. Caron pushing very hard.

4:06 3d period: Canadiens 1-0
Terrific point-blank stop by Carey Price on Jordan Caron. Good puck movement on PP by Bruins.

20:00 2d period: Canadiens 1-0
Not much offensive pressure from Bruins through 40. Steven Kampfer continuing to have a solid game. To start, Kampfer might be better fit as No. 7 defenseman. Matt Bartkowski would be best served getting game action and heavy reps in Providence. Jamie Arniel having a quiet night. Fight for 13th forward spot between Jordan Caron and Chris Clark.

15:33 2d period: Canadiens 1-0
Mike Cammalleri scores on the rebound. Phil DeSimone with the original shot off the rush. Habs enter zone with their usual speed.

12:10 2d period: 0-0
Tuukka Rask with 12 stops so far. Nothing wrong with Rask’s game.

5:28 2d period: 0-0
Matt Bartkowski cough-up leads to Montreal scoring chance. Bartkowski not as sharp tonight.

20:00 1st period: 0-0
One second remains on Chris Kelly interference penalty. Steven Kampfer making push for seventh job. Has more poise with puck than Matt Bartkowski. This could be coin flip.

16:34 1st period: 0-0
Milan Lucic and Jeff Woywitka (No. 8) trade jousts. Lucic must not like that number (Mike Komisarek’s old digits).

4:38 1st period: 0-0
Colby Cohen looking comfortable. Projects to have more NHL potential than Matt Hunwick. Could be top-four D and PP specialist.

0:00 1st period: 0-0
Jean Beliveau looking well during pregame ceremony. Living legend.
