Bruins assign Lane MacDermid, Max Sauve to Providence

The Bruins have assigned Lane MacDermid and Max Sauve to Providence. They did not accompany the rest of the players on the team-building trip this morning.

MacDermid has proven to be a fourth-line wing capable of NHL pinch-hitting duty in case of injury. MacDermid challenged Micheal Haley to a fight last night after the Islanders forward bloodied Chris Clark’s nose.

Sauve is still developing his pro identity. Sauve has a pedigree as a skilled winger, but he needs more jam in his game.

The Bruins have 25 players remaining in camp, including Steven Kampfer (knee). Clark and Jordan Caron are still with the team. Caron has most likely wrapped up a roster spot, either on the third line or as the 13th forward. Clark could be the 14th forward if the Bruins choose to start with two extra up-front men.
