Peverley practices, Paille has surgery

As expected, Daniel Paille had surgery this morning to repair his fractured nose. Paille suffered the injury Monday night when Steve Staios’s slap shot caught him.

Bruins coach Claude Julien said the fourth-line winger is doubtful for tomorrow’s contest with Edmonton, but should be day-to-day after that, pending the outcome of the surgery.

Benoit Pouliot practiced in Paille’s place alongside Shawn Thornton and Gregory Campbell, and Julien said he expects Pouliot will serve on the fourth line tomorrow.

Returning to practice was Rich Peverley, who missed Monday’s game against the Islanders with an undisclosed minor injury.

Peverley said his status is still day to day, as well, meaning the Bruins could be without Paille and Peverley tomorrow night at TD Garden.

UPDATE: Bruins have announced they’re recalling forward Zach Hamill from the Providence Bruins on an emergency basis, presumably as insurance in case Peverley can’t go.
