Rich Peverley out 4 to 6 weeks

Bruins center Rich Peverley will be out the next four to six weeks after suffering a knee injury against the Montreal Canadiens Wednesday. Peverley was diagnosed with a third-degree MCL sprain in his right knee.

Peverley returned to Boston after the game while the Bruins traveled to Winnipeg for tonight’s matchup against the Jets. Peverley was hurt on a knee-on-knee hit with the Canadiens’ Hal Gill in the third period.

The Bruins are now down two right wings in Peverley and Nathan Horton.

With Peverley unavailable, Benoit Pouliot will most likely skate alongside Milan Lucic and David Krejci. During power-play drills this morning, Andrew Ference was in Peverley’s spot on the point alongside Zdeno Chara.

“It’s unfortunate,” Claude Julien said. “He logs a lot of minutes during the game. With Horton out already, those are two guys that play a lot of minutes for us. It’s going to be a challenge for us. That’s just part of the game.”

* Tuukka Rask will start tonight for the first time since being pulled against Buffalo.

* Josh Hennessy will make his Bruins debut. Hennessy will center the fourth line between Gregory Campbell and Shawn Thornton. Daniel Paille will move up to the third line.

Here’s tonight’s lineup:

Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Tyler Seguin
Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Benoit Pouliot
Daniel Paille-Chris Kelly-Jordan Caron
Gregory Campbell-Josh Hennessy-Shawn Thornton

Zdeno Chara-Johnny Boychuk
Dennis Seidenberg-Joe Corvo
Andrew Ference-Adam McQuaid

Tuukka Rask
Tim Thomas
