Game 5: Capitals at Bruins

Good afternoon from TD Garden, where the Bruins will try to claim a 3-2 series lead over the Capitals.

The Bruins introduced changes to all four lines in practice yesterday. Like the Capitals, the Bruins have scored only seven goals in four games. They are desperate for some offense.

Storylines: According to the Washington Post, Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom could be reunited today. They have not played together in the playoffs. Backstrom has been Ovechkin’s most regular centerman … The Bruins are 0 for 12 on the power play. One wrinkle they’ve yet to try: Zdeno Chara down low. They tried that move in last year’s postseason. They are unlikely to do so this year because Chara never played the net-front position during the regular season … Adam McQuaid (eye/head) will miss his fifth straight game. McQuaid will not play in Game 6 either … Tim Peel and Steve Kozari will be the referees. Shane Heyer and Lonnie Cameron will be the linesmen.
