Game 3: Bruins at Rangers preview

NEW YORK – Good morning from Madison Square Garden, where the Bruins will take on the Rangers tonight.

The Bruins are looking to extend their perfect season. In contrast, the Rangers are winless, having lost to Boston and Pittsburgh. Tonight’s rematch should be spirited.

The Bruins will have an optional morning skate. Dennis Seidenberg (lower body) didn’t play in Monday’s 2-1 shootout win over Winnipeg. Seidenberg practiced yesterday and could be a game-time decision.

Brad Marchand was given a maintenance day yesterday. We’ll assume both Seidenberg and Marchand will be in tonight.

Story lines: The Bruins are perfect on the penalty kill (9 for 9). On the flip side, they haven’t broken through on the power play (0 for 9)… Gregory Campbell and Stu Bickel have fought in each of the last two meetings. They could have their bout tonight. Bickel’s gotten the best of Campbell in both previous scraps… Henrik Lundqvist was pulled in the Rangers’ loss to the Penguins. Lundqvist has been good, not great… Arron Ashman was not eligible to play in the season opener (suspension). Asham gives the Rangers even more grit… Chris Rooney and Brian Pochmara will be the referees. Scott Cherrey and Derek Amell will be the linesmen.
