WILMINGTON – Daniel Paille practiced today at Ristuccia Arena for the first time since being high-sticked by Buffalo’s Tyler Myers last Thursday. Paille didn’t play against Toronto on Saturday because of precautionary reasons. The area around Paille’s left eye is swollen and bruised, but the left wing said he’s feeling better.
Paille, however, has not been cleared to play on Wednesday against Montreal. Paille did not participate in battle drills today. Paille practiced on the fourth line.
- Shawn Thornton took a solo skate before practice this morning. It was the first time Thornton was on the ice since suffering a concussion during his fight with John Scott on Thursday. Thornton rode the stationary bike Sunday, according to coach Claude Julien. Thornton is symptom-free. Thornton remains very doubtful for Wednesday’s game.
- David Krejci and Brad Marchand didn’t practice. Krejci is expected to practice tomorrow. Julien did not say the same about Marchand.
