17:33 — Bruins go on power play, chance to win it.

3:30 to go. Remains knotted.

13:55 — Caps 3, Bruins 3 — Wolski knots it with backhand sweep low in slot, after slipping behind Seidenberg-Hamilton backline.

9:01 — Krejci stopped on backhander at right post at end of 3-on-1 break. Still Boston, 3-2.

Second set in books. Bruins holding one-goal lead.

11:32 — Bruins 3, Caps 2 — Kundratek wrists home shot from top of right wing circle, seconds after faceoff. Bruins game in a sort of ice cream freeze.


Thornton back on ice, hauls down Chimera, hands Caps power play at 8:05.

5:46 — Bruins 3, Caps 1 — Ribeiro connects from low slot, toward left wing circle, after Ovechkin shuttles across slot. Ovie first knocks Olesky shot out of air, then makes relay.

5:00 gone, Bruins still with the 3-0 lead.

Thornton, Erskine in respective sin bins as period begins.


First period in books. Bruins, 3-0. Autopilot.

18:30 — Bruins 3, Caps 0 — Hamilton drills in half-slapper from slot point. Two nice backhand relasy, Krejci to Horton, then Horton to Hamilton, set up the strike.

17:09 — Thornton fights Erskine. Both go to room with little time left in period. Erskine opens bout with two heavy rights to Thornton’s squash. Not good for a guy recovering from concussion.

17:07 — Bruins 2, Caps 1 — Chara snaps off wrister at top of right wing faceoff circle. Shot nails Krejci at front of net. Chara follows up, pots own loose puck under Holtby’s left pad.

11:00 gone here in first. Boston up, 1-0. Caps with 4-3 shot lead.

6:29 — Bruins 1, Caps 0 — Marchand scores on penalty shot for 12th goal of season. Was hooked on breakaway by Ovechkin while killing penalty. LIttle Ball o’ Hate stuffs forehander through Holtby’s five-hole.

Puck down. Underway.

Chris Bourque makes his way back into Boston’s lineup tonight. Was a scratch Sunday night vs. Habs. Jay Pandolfo gets night off here.
