The Bruins will close out the regular season tonight against the Senators at TD Garden. Tonight is the rescheduled game that was postponed on April 15 following the Boston Marathon bombings.
The Bruins can win the Northeast Division title and the second seed of the Eastern Conference with a regulation victory. They would play the Islanders in the first round.
If the Bruins win in overtime or the shootout, they would finish in second in the East and play Ottawa in the first round.
If the Bruins lose in any fashion (regulation, overtime, shootout), they will finish in fourth place and play Toronto.
Both teams will be looking to win. If the Senators lose in regulation, they will be the No. 8 seed and play Pittsburgh, the hands-down best team in the conference.

Storylines: It’s possible that Jaromir Jagr, out against Washington last night because of flu-like symptoms, could return to the lineup tonight. If so, Kaspars Daugavins would be the healthy scratch… The Bruins are 4-0-0 against Ottawa this season. But the games have been tight. It would not be an easy first-round match for the Bruins… The Bruins are 13-1-0 against the Senators in their last 14 games… Gregory Campbell, Andrew Ference, Tyler Seguin, and Zdeno Chara should play in their 48th games. They would be the only four Bruins not to miss a game… Chris Rooney and Steve Kozari will be the referees. Derek Amell and Tim Nowak will be the linesmen.
