Bruins aiming to close out first round

The Bruins have no intentions of returning to Toronto for Game 6 on Sunday. They will do everything they can to eliminate the Maple Leafs in Friday’s Game 5 at TD Garden.

“You’ve got to play your best game,” coach Claude Julien said. “We know how hard it is to close. That’s the thing that you hope your players realize and understand extremely well after all the experiences we’ve had throughout the years. We now know how hard it is to close. There’s no reason for us to come out tomorrow and not play as hard, if not harder, than we did last night.”

Nathan Horton was shaken up on the game-winning sequence. Dion Phaneuf blasted Horton with a heavy hit just as he chipped the puck ahead. Horton said he’s feeling fine and that he saw Phaneuf coming. Horton will be ready for Game 5.

The Bruins did not hold a full practice on Thursday.
