Loui Eriksson makes an appearance

WILMINGTON — Loui Eriksson was among the early arrivals for captain’s practice this week, and met the media in person today for the first time since being traded to Boston in the Tyler Seguin deal.

“It feels really good,” Eriksson said of donning the spoked B. “It’s nice to finally get here. I got in Saturday, so it’s nice to see some guys here and go on the ice a little bit and skate around and just have fun.”

Eriksson has gotten to meet a number of his new teammates with larger crowds at Ristuccia Arena the past two days. Unlike the rest of the Bruins, who seemingly just got off their skates at the end of the 2012-2013 season, Eriksson said his summer has been far too long.

“It’s going to be nice to play on one of the Original Six teams too,” Eriksson said. “They have a little bit more fans here than in Dallas. … Like I said, I’m excited to be here. I’m going to do all I can to help this team win.”

Also in attendance for the last two days have been fellow new Bruin Jarome Iginla, plus Tuukka Rask, Shawn Thornton, Dennis Seidenberg, Brad Marchand, David Krejci, Daniel Paille, and Carl Soderberg. Johnny Boychuk and Torey Krug were the new additions today. There were also a number of players from the Providence Bruins, including potential backup goaltender Niklas Svedberg.
