Game 3: Avalanche at Bruins

The Bruins are trying to get back in stride after four days off after a win over the Red Wings on Saturday. The Avalanche are trying to see just how real their 3-0-0 start is.

Asked if this game would be a measuring stick for his surprising team, Avalanche coach Patrick Roy said, “Certainly it is a measuring stick to some point, obviously. But at the same time we know we still have things to work on. But I guess tonight we’re going to be challenged and we’ll see what area in our game needs to be better and improve. That’s why I’m saying we take it one day at a time and see where it’ll bring us.”

These are two teams that don’t face each other often. In fact, the last time the teams met was in a 1-0 Avalanche win exactly two years ago, on Oct. 10, 2011.

Both OT wins came in Quebec.
