Game 31: Bruins at Flames

CALGARY — Welcome to Jarome Iginla Day here at the Saddledome.

It’s a big day for the city — the hottest ticket of the year, according to Craig Conroy, a member of the Flames front office and close friend of Iginla.

There’s also a lot going on for the Bruins, between illness and injury and call-ups and a suspension, the team begins a three-game stretch in Canada against Western Conference teams.

The Bruins announced today that Dougie Hamilton will be out for two-to-four weeks with a lower body injury. Daniel Paille will also be out of tonight’s game with an upper body injury. Nick Johnson is on his way to Calgary to fill Paille’s spot on an emergency basis.


The Bruins also placed Loui Eriksson on injured reserve.

Notes: All four of the Bruins out on Monday with flu-like symptoms were back on the ice today (Chara, Miller, Campbell, Johnson). … The Bruins also got word that Maple Leaf Dion Phaneuf will serve a two-game suspension for his boarding of Kevan Miller on Sunday that went unpenalized at the time. Phaneuf had a phone hearing this morning. … Meanwhile, Shawn Thornton’s in-person hearing with player safety has been scheduled for Friday in New York. He will have served three games by then. … The referees are Dave Jackson and Dan O’Halloran. The linesmen are Kiel Murchison and Thor Nelson.
