EDMONTON — Welcome to cold and snowy Edmonton where the Bruins will have yet another reunion tonight. This time it’s Oilers captain Andrew Ference, who parted ways with the organization after last season’s run to the Cup Final.
Of course, many of Ference’s former teammates aren’t actually in the city.
The Bruins continue to lose players at an alarming rate, with Daniel Paille the latest to be sent back to Boston for evaluation. We should know more on his condition later today.
We’ll have to see if Tuukka Rask is recovered enough from the flu to play against Edmonton. Otherwise it’ll be backup Chad Johnson.

Notes: The Bruins opted not to skate this morning in Edmonton. That might be tied to the flu bug that has struck the team this week. … The Bruins remain without four forwards (Loui Eriksson, Daniel Paille, Chris Kelly, Shawn Thornton) and two defensemen (Adam McQuaid, Dougie Hamilton), with McQuaid the closest to returning. McQuaid skated on Wednesday in Edmonton before the team’s practice. … Edmonton has the fewest points in the Western Conference. Only the Islanders and Sabres have fewer in the East.
