UNIONDALE, N.Y. — Welcome to the Nassau Coliseum on lovely Long Island, where the Bruins will be doing their best to pick up their play against the Islanders this evening.
The Bruins have lost both games they’ve played against the Islanders this season, and played poorly in both games. In fact, the last time they were in this building, on Nov. 2, they played one of their worst games of the season.
Boston, though, is in a different place right now in terms of its play, coming off a 6-1 dismantling of the Flyers. They are 3-0-1 in their last four games.

Notes: Chris Kelly will not play tonight against the Islanders, but it is a “good possibility” that he’ll be in the lineup tomorrow vs. the Panthers at TD Garden. Kelly has missed more than seven weeks since fracturing his fibula on Dec. 7 … Defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky returns tonight for the Islanders. … New York will face the Rangers on Wednesday at Yankee Stadium. Islanders coach Jack Capuano chatted with Claude Julien about coaching in an outdoor game on Sunday. Julien has done it twice. … The referees tonight are Frederick L’Ecuyer and Kevin Pollock. The linesmen are Derek Amell and Steve Barton.
