Game 63 preview: Bruins at Lightning

TAMPA, Fla. — Good afternoon from the Tampa Bay Times Forum, where the Bruins are set to take on the Lightning this evening. It’s a big game for Tampa Bay, which has struggled since returning from the break. The Lightning have lost their last three games and are 3-7-0 in their last 10.

The Lightning did get back star Steven Stamkos for their game against Buffalo on Thursday. The newly named captain of the Lightning had been out for 45 games, since he broke his shin in a game against the Bruins on Nov. 11.

It’s an interesting matchup, given that these two could possibly face each other in the playoffs. In fact, if the playoffs started today, they would be a first-round matchup.

Most of the defensemen skated, with the exception of Zdeno Chara and Johnny Boychuk. Tuukka Rask also took the morning off. … The Bruins play back-to-back games in Florida, with a 5 p.m. start on Sunday against Roberto Luongo and the Panthers in Sunrise, Fla.
