Bruins sign Cornell’s Brian Ferlin to entry-level contract

The Bruins have signed Cornell University forward Brian Ferlin to an entry-level contract, GM Peter Chiarelli announced on Friday.

Ferlin played 32 games for Cornell this season, leading the team in goals, 13, and points, 27. His 14 assists were tied for fourth on the team. He finished his NCAA career playing 92 games over three seasons for Cornell, scoring 31 goals and 41 assists with a plus-minus of +25.

Ferlin skated for two seasons with the Indiana Ice of the USHL from 2009-11, playing 112 games with 31 goals and 58 assists. He played in 13 USHL playoff games for the Ice, scoring two goals and six assists.

The Bruins originally drafted Ferlin 121st overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He is a native of Jacksonville, Fla.
