Torey Krug’s Game 4 Goal Looks Familiar

Torey Krug is giving Bruins fans flashbacks – and that’s a good thing.

About halfway through the second period of Game 4 in Detroit, Krug broke up Jonas Gustavsson’s shutout with a laser from the point. The powerplay goal was Krug’s fifth career playoff goal, but it might as well been any of the four preceding it. It was a cookie cutter slapper from the diminutive d-man. Classic Krug.

Let’s go to the tape.

With the exception of Krug’s second goal from 2012-13 playoffs, a creative snap shot from the hash marks, every tally was a ripper from up high. Three were with the man advantage (the second goal being the exception again). Play all four back to back and then replay tonight’s laser. If there’s one thing you can say, the man is consistent.
This is good news for Bruins fans. If No. 47 can find the stride that he had against the Rangers last year, the B’s should get a much-needed scoring boost from their back end.
