The Bruins are riding high the morning after seizing control of this first round series with the Red Wings, thanks to a 3-2 overtime win in Detroit. Rask’s competition? Ben Bishop of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Semyon Varlamov of the Colorado Avalanche.
The Bruins’ stopper led all NHL goalies in shutouts (7) and was second in save percentage (.930). His 2.04 goals against average was good for fourth in the league.
In March, after Rask recorded his seventh shutout, Bruins play-by-play man for 98.5 The Sports Hub Dave Goucher talked Tuukka’s chances at taking home the award on “Toucher & Rich.”
“I don’t know how he doesn’t win it,” Goucher said.
