It’s the game day ritual. Claude Julien addresses the media after morning skate, but not necessarily enthusiastically.
It’s all business for Julien and there is, quite literally, not much to say. Therefore the questions he usually receives at these morning pressers are geared for the time suck between this appearance and puck drop. It’s part of the media dance.
So with fan exciting reaching (dare I say) a fever pitch, the Bruins coach couldn’t have sounded less thrilled to worry about it from a team perspective.
“I think [our excitement] would be the same amount” today, Julien said. “Guys are excited about being at the playoffs. Guys are just looking forward to getting it started.”
Updates on Brad Marchand (“he took his option”) and Daniel Paille (“game-time” decision) didn’t go much further. Even with similar circumstances going up against the Canadiens like the Detroit Red Wings, after losing three of four regular season games, he didn’t offer much on how his team seems to figure out their opponents in the postseason.
“I don’t know. I really don’t. We just figure it out,” he said.
Thanks for playing, Julien.
