Krug brings home the bronze from IIHF World Championships
This year’s Team USA roster at the IIHF World Championship was considered to be weak in comparison both to previous years and other teams at the competition. While that was true on paper, the Americans played their hearts out to earn a medal by defeating the Czech Republic 3-0 in the bronze-medal game.
Torey Krug had no points in the final two games, and finished with a total of two goals and three assists at his first international competition. Bringing home a medal from the Czech Republic as part of a young, inexperienced team – especially on defense – remains a special achievement for the Americans and Krug.
