The Boston Celtics announced today three transactions.
The team has exercised the team option on Tony Allen’s contract for the 2007-08 season.
The Celtics also waived forwards Brian Grant and Luke Jackson.
Allen, appeared in 51 games for the Celtics last season, scored a career-high 23 points vs. Cleveland. Allen averaged 7.2 points, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steal in 19.2 minutes per game last season.
Jackson was acquired on October 13 in a trade with the Cavaliers in exchange for center Dwayne Jones. The Celtics also received cash considerations in the deal.
Grant was acquired in the draft night trade that saw the Celtics also acquire the draft rights to Rajon Rondo and cash considerations from Phoenix. The Celtics in return gave up a future first round draft choice. Grant did not appear in a game for the Celtics.
The Celtics roster currently stands at 15 players.
