Celtics vs. Knicks, 7:30 p.m.

The Celtics (4-7) host the New York Knicks (4-9) at the TD Banknorth Garden tonight at 7:30 p.m., just hours after the Bruins suffered a 5-1 defeat in the same building.

The Celtics are coming off a 92-83 loss at Charlotte on Wednesday night. Paul Pierce had a season-high 39 points in the loss. Al Jefferson returned to the Celtics lineup Wednesday from appendectomy surgery and played 20 minutes.

The Knicks, on the other hand, have lost three straight games. New York’s losing streak began at the hands of the Celtics last Saturday night. The Celtics hope to avoid a three-game losing streak of their own by winning tonight before a quick turnaround game at Milwaukee Saturday night.
