We’re courtside at the Garden where the shorthanded Celtics are set to tip off against the Memphis Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m.
Kendrick Perkins, Wally Szczerbiak, Michael Olowokandi and Theo Ratliff are all out for tonight’s game. Look for Al Jefferson to start alongside Ryan Gomes down low.
Brian Scalabrine and Leon Powe are the only big men at Doc Rivers’s disposal off the bench. Both players worked on their shooting before the game, while Powe worked on some conditioning with Jefferson and trainer Bryan Doo.
With injuries to four players, look for guard Allan Ray to be on the active list for tonight’s game. There’s no guarantee Ray will play, of course, but the rookie out of Villanova will be at Boston’s disposal for only the third time this season. Ray had a career-high nine points at Chicago on Monday.
Memphis is not without its own injury problems. Forward Pau Gasol has missed the first 17 games of the season with a fractured metatarsal in his left foot.
Ryan Gomes went 4-for-10 on three-pointers from the corner in warmups before the game. Gomes was aiming for 50 percent in a bet with a member of the Celtics staff.
Danny Ainge was courtside watching his team before the game. Ainge, who is not usually present courtside before the games, gave Gomes a few pointers during warmups.
The Celtics locker room has just opened. Check back in a bit for pregame comments from Doc Rivers and Celtics players.
