After a day off, the Celtics returned to work today for what Doc Rivers called “the first quality practice in 14 days.” By that he meant the length of the workout (90 minutes) and the fact that the players had not practiced the day before.
Nonetheless, the carnage continues for this injury-plagued team. Delonte West did not practice and may miss tomorrow night’s game against Indiana. Rivers said he won’t know for sure until tomorrow, and noted that West always wants to play, regardless of his injury situation. But Rivers said he feels the banged-up West can use some extra time and, ideally, would be miss the next two games simply to chill out. Everyone else was there, save Paul Pierce, who is going to be re-evaluated this week. Pierce has been out since Dec. 22 and the Celtics are 2-7 in the games he has missed.
