Allen taken for MRI

Celtics guard Tony Allen left the game with 3:01 remaining in the third quarter with a left knee injury. Allen was taken to New England Baptist hospital for an MRI.

With three minutes remaining in the third quarter, Allen was fouled by Pacers forward Stephen Jackson. After the play was over, Allen went up for a dunk and came down on the floor writhing in pain and clutching his left knee. He had to be carried off the floor and into the Celtics locker room.

Allen’s 19 points were leading the Celtics up to that point. Delonte West, not in uniform because of an injury, ran to the locker room as Allen was being carried off the floor.

Celtics foward Brian Scalabrine, who left the game in the first half with a right knee injury, was also taken to New England Baptist for an MRI.
