Raptors, 21-15 (1)

  • The Celtics started four high school players (Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair, Al Jefferson, and Kendrick Perkins) tonight against the Raptors. Ryan Gomes (four years at Providence) was the old man out on the floor.
  • Before the game, Celtics coach Doc Rivers commented on the possibility Green would participate in the dunk contest this year:

β€œIt would be nice if he won, because we need to win something,” said Rivers. β€œ He clearly has earned that right to be in it. It would be fun for him. It gives him a lot of confidence. Anytime he can get out there and perform it would be good. I would like that a lot. It would be fun for all our guys too.”

  • Rajon Rondo must have been told to look for his shot before the game, because the rookie guard has been aggressive in taking the open jumper so far. Rondo is 2-for-3 with five points so far.
