The Celtics expanded their lead against the Bucks in the third quarter. Some clutch shooting by Paul Pierce and a couple of power moves by Al Jefferson have helped Boston take an 89-74 lead.
Emerging from halftime with a four-point lead, a Delonte West jumper from the elbow gave the Celtics a 67-60 lead with eight minutes left in the third quarter.
The Celtics got back-to-back three pointers from Paul Pierce and Brian Scalabrine a short time later. The latter forced Bucks coach Terry Stotts to call a timeout with 6:06 left in the third and his team down 12 points.
The teams traded baskets for the rest of the period until Ryan Gomes hit a three-pointer with 0.8 seconds remaining.
Pierce has 29 points to lead all scorers. Mo Williams has 25 points for the Bucks.
