The Celtics showed some signs of life in the second quarter after getting outplayed in every aspect in the first.
After getting doubled-up (42-21) early, Paul Pierce brought Boston to within eight with a three-point play at the 4:58 mark in period. Ryan Gomes scored on Boston’s next possession to cut the lead to six and give the crowd some life.
Pierce has 22 points for the Celtics at the break.
Dirk Nowitzki has only eight points at halftime, but Dallas has not looked for much scoring out of its superstar thus far.
