Celtics work out Green

Danny Ainge and Doc Rivers traveled to Washington D.C. today to watch Georgetown forward Jeff Green work out at McDonough Arena. The session started at 10 a.m. and lasted approximately an hour with Celtics’ assistant coach Armond Hill running the workout while Ainge and Rivers watched. The workout consisted of shooting from particular spots, rebounding and running the floor.

Due to new rules shortening the window for pre-draft workouts by about two weeks, Ainge and the Celtics have been traveling around the country and popping into other teams’ sessions to watch as many players as possible in person. It has been a hectic schedule that often leaves Ainge and his schedulers making last-minute travel arrangements and scrambling to bring in particular players.

Ainge will look at potential second-round candidates tomorrow in New York City. The Celtics will resume pre-draft workouts in Waltham Monday when Kansas forward Julian Wright and Holy Cross guard Keith Simmons come to town.
