Ray Allen had a mature approach to what was a difficult loss for the Celtics.
“That’s one of those games that we want to be a part of,” Allen said after the game. “It was a playoff atmosphere in there.”
Allen tied the game at 85 with an off-balance three with 18.9 seconds left in the fourth. But the fact that Celtics dug themselves a hole and needed Allen’s heroics was a sign the Celtics have some things to improve on.
“I thought there was a stretch in the fourth quarter where we didn’t get anything done,” said Allen. “We turned the ball over, we gave them momentum. But we still had a chance to win the game. That was the encouraging part of that situation. It was a great test for us all.”
The Celtics suffered their first loss at home in thirteen games.
“I know we’ll put this behind us very quickly,” said Allen. “Losing games levels you off as much as you don’t like it. It always humbles you and just makes you put that work in.”
