Celtics, 65-61 (3)
Both teams ramped up the defensive pressure in the third quarter, and the game has turned chippy as we head to the fourth.
The Celtics shot 29 percent in the third thanks to some intense Detroit defense. The Celtics scored just 13 points in the quarter.
The Pistons are still hovering around 38 percent shooting.
The crowd has been into every possession, chanting ‘Defense’ when Detroit has the ball, and loudly objecting to foul calls on the Celtics.
It’s been a lot of fun.
Kevin Garnett is leading the Celtics with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Chauncey Billups has 16 points and 8 assists for the Pistons.
Ray Allen has 16 points for the Celtics, while fellow former-Husky Rip Hamilton has 19 points for the Pistons.
Should be a great fourth quarter.
