After a strong Celtic start, the reserves played into the Warriors’ hands Wednesday night, the Celtics going 7:40 without a field goal after Rondo’s drive late in the first quarter. The Warriors took a 67-54 halftime lead — the previous opponent high for a half this season was 55 and for a quarter 34 by Milwaukee Nov. 15; the Warriors surpassed that halftime high with 3:31 remaining, C.J. Watson’s foul shot giving them a 56-48 lead.
This was the most points allowed in a half by the Celtics since the Warriors scored 69 points in the second half of a 119-117 win over the Celtics Feb. 20. Charlotte scored 68 in the first half of a March 14, 2005 game.
