LOS ANGELES — New Celtics center Mikki Moore took part in today’s shootaround at UCLA this morning and will play in tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Celtics worked on offensive and defensive plays with the 33-year-old 10-year veteran after the shootaround ended.
“I just feel like I can help this team a lot and feed off their energy,” said Moore, who signed with the Celtics yesterday after clearing waivers. He was let go by the Kings last Thursday
“They’re a group of good guys and I want to be a part of something great.”
“He’s definitely an All-Star,” Pierce said. “He’s been an All-Star in this league and he definitely could play. He can give our second unit a boost, especially Eddie [House] and those other guys. He is a guy who can play the pick and roll, spread the court, penetrate through five guys and create for others. When Steph was at his best, he was a nightmare for a lot of players. If he comes and we can integrate him in what we are trying to do, he’s going to be a plus.”
“Stephon has been an extraordinary talent over his career,” Allen said. “He can help us. It will be interesting when he gets here.”
