Celts lose – but not without a fight

The Celtics ended dropping a 86-79 decision to the Orlando Magic, but there was plenty to feel good about given the way this game started. Nonetheless, the deficit was just three (82-79) when official Pat Fraher called Leon Powe for a foul away from the ball, leading to two free throws by Rashard Lewis that essentially iced the game for the Magic.

We’ll obviously have more from the locker room in a short while – including the Celtics’ assessment of the Fraher call. Celtics coach Doc Rivers was beside himself after Fraher blew the whistle, but remember: the Celtics did nothing in the first half of this game and were entirely responsible for digging themselves a deficit that proved insurmountable.

Ray Allen finished with 32 points in 46 minutes to lead all scorers. He also had nine rebounds.
