Marquis Daniels’ contract with the Celtics was finalized Friday morning, seven weeks after he committed to the team. Daniels will receive the Celtics’ one-year, $1.99 million biannual exception this season.
But Daniels confirmed he passed up a chance for more lucrative offers after Indiana failed to pick up his option.
“Not many people get a chance to play with Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Rasheed Wallace,” Daniels said at a press conference in Waltham. “It’s a good opportunity and I’ll worry about the money later. Right now we have to worry about one thing and that’s winning the championship this season.”
The press conference concluded late Friday morning, delayed by a contract snag, according to Celtic officials.
