It’s garbage time now and the Celtics are maintaining their 20-point lead and have let the young, talented Thunder know it is a ways away from competing with the big boys.

The Celtics are digging deep into their bench and the lead is slipping although there is no danger yet. Five Celtics have scored in double figures.

A 28-16 quarter has given the Celtics a juicy lead as they are close to heading home 4-0 on this road trip. Rajon Rondo has 15 points and six assists while Kevin Garnett has 23 and Paul Pierce 21. Kevin Durant has 29 but the next highest Thunder player is 13 from Russell Westbrook.

Boston continues to dominate and it is frustrating Kevin Durant, who picked up a technical foul complaining on a foul on Rajon Rondo. Kevin Garnett has 23 and Paul Pierce 21.

OKC is the much younger team but has less energy and the Celtics are seeing blood, running out to a 18-point lead with an 11-6 run. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett each has 21 points

Kevin Garnett has scored five straight points and the Celtics are threatening to run away, but the Thunder is fiesty and Kevin Garnett has been stellar with 24 points in 23 minutes.
Halftime, Celtics 60-49
Although it seems like the Thunder is ready to make a big run at the Celtics, Boston keeps fighting off and maintaining its lead. Kevin Durant has 22 points, six shot of his season average, and Russell Westbrook has 11 for OKC. Paul Pierce has 21, Kendrick Perkins 13 and Kevin Garnett 12 for the Celtics.

The Celtics keep staving off Thunder runs but OKC has a bunch of athletes. If it isn’t Russell Westbrook, it’s Kevin Durant, it’s Serge Ibaka or Thabo Sefolosha.

OKC on a 7-0 run behind a 3-pointer and layup from Russell Westbrook. Westbrook has seven points but had been saddled with two fouls.

Boston is maintaining it’s 10-plus point lead with 58 percent shooting and 5 for 7 from the 3-point line. Kevin Garnett has played just nine minutes so far as OKC continues to go small and the matchup is advantageous for Boston.

Boston is shooting 63 percent from the field and has received 11 points from Paul Pierce and six from Kevin Garnett. The Celtics’ defensive is strong against the Thunder, The plan is obviously to allow Kevin Durant to score all the points and shut down the other weapons. Durant has 12 of OKC’s 20 points.

Ray Allen hit a 3-pointer and was fouled by James Harden but missed the free throw. He has five points while Kevin Garnett had six. Kevin Durant has scored eight for OKC, which ironically are 8 for 13 from the field.
