Final, Hawks 93-85
The Celtics just didn’t have enough push to make a rally and Jamal Crawford made big plays down the stretch. Crawford finished with 18 points and the Hawks had six players in double figures. Paul Pierce led Boston with 21 on 8-for-16 shooting while Kendrick Perkins followed with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Kendrick Perkins completed a three-point play and Al Horford countered with two free throws, so the Celtics are three possessions down with the ball.
Fourth quarter, 52.5, Hawks 91-82
The Celtics had their chances to rally but they couldn’t get key defensive rebounds and Jamal Crawford got hot. His 28-footer just put the Hawks up by nine and he has 18 points in 24 minutes. The Celtics are 13-for-35 (37 percent) from the field in the second half.

Paul Pierce is hot and the Celtics are making a game of this. They got to within 81-78 on a Pierce jumper but the Hawks have responded with buckets from Josh Smith and Al Horford.

The Celtics can’t stop Jamal Crawford, who has poured in 14 points in 19 minutes, including a four-point play that put Atlanta up 78-67 but the Celtics are on a 7-0 run and the Hawks are getting tentative offensively.

The Hawks have scored four points in the past 4:20 but the Celtics have failed to capitalize and still trail by 10, It’s going to take another furious rally, such as the one in Miami, to pull this one out. The Celtics are 6-for-26 from the field (23 percent) in the second half.
End of third quarter, Hawks 68-60
It could have been much worse for the Celtics, who missed 17 of 22 shots in the period and actually trailed 68-53 before a 7-0 run to end the quarter. Atlanta made 11 of 18 shots in the period and scored 29 points after tallying 39 the entire first half.

The Celtics are trying to slow down the Hawks and have the ball down six. They are 3-for-14 from the field in the second half but have only committed four fouls the entire game.

After scoring 39 points in the first half, the Hawks have scored 20 in the first six minutes, 25 seconds on 7-for-11 shooting and four 3-pointers. The Hawks are running, creating turnovers and scoring on fastbreaks, something they want to do against the older Celtics. The Celtics are 2-for-9 from the field to begin the quarter with three turnovers.

Atlanta is on a 13-4 run to begin the half, nine of those points on 3-polinters. The Celtics have committed two turnovers in the first four minutes of the quarter but Atlanta is speeding up the pace and scoring easy buckets.
Halftime, Celtics 45-39
Boston led by as many as eight (41-33) before the Hawks responded with a 6-0 run and then the Celtics ended the half with a 4-0 run, including a 3-pointer by Ray Allen. The Celtics are shooting nearly 46 percent while Atlanta is at 42. Marvin Williams and Josh Smith each have eight for Atlanta while Ray Allen has 10, Kendrick Perkins 9 and Rajon Rondo 8.

Eddie House has come off the bench for five points and the Celtics are 5 for 9 from the 3-point line while Rajon Rondo has scored eight points. Josh Smith and Marvin Williams each have six points for Atlanta.

The game continues to be ugly with teams shooting a combined 18 for 48 with eight turnovers. The game has yet to get a flow but the Celtics are hanging in there with their bench. Eddie House has hit two free throws off the bench.

It was an ugly first quarter with a combined 15 for 41 shooting by both teams but it also has featured stretches of good defense and three Celtic 3-pointers.
