We’ve come to the point where Rajon Rondo’s 25 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds are almost an afterthought. He’s been that good in the playoffs.
He’s also played almost every minute for the Celtics, his 45 minutes Tuesday night in Game 2 leading the team.
“On the offensive end of the floor I wasn’t always making the play,” Rondo said, trying to justify why he wouldn’t be tired. “Kevin made the plays, Ray Allen made the plays as well. Paul played great tonight. Paul had a lot of [isolations] and I thought he was very efficient tonight. I don’t want to take a night off on the defensive end, but offensively I didn’t do as much as it may seem.”
Rondo was stoic about taking it into the paint against Dwight Howard. Howard did not record a block for the first time in the playoffs.
“A couple of floaters he changed my shot,” said Rondo. “He blocks shots best. But at the end of the day I’m still going to be aggressive.”
